BR485 Withdrawal - S-Bhf Baumschulenweg S45 S46 S47 S8 S85 S9
13 October was the last day of BR485 stock on Berlin's S-Bahn line S8. This was penultimate conversion from BR485 to BR483/484 (S45,S46,S47 already converted), with the last coming in exactly six months time on 13th April 2023, when the S85 will be converted to BR483/484 operation.
The S85 requires 13 units and 30 in total will be kept as a winter reserve. It is intended to scrap and recycle all units in 2023 at Bender in Leverkusen-Opladen.
