Day Eleven
In 1911 the Barksdale Mounted Police Station on Barksdale south of Union was opened with 15 mounted patrolmen assigned. In 1948 the station was closed and the last horses were sold. The Department had 471 total personnel, 83 automobiles, 22 motorcycles, and 3 patrol wagons at that time. It's amazing the history behind some of the things you shoot. This building had history and it was cool to photograph it.
