Minutes before taking this photograph, I was practicing a lower altitude flyby with a drone just a few feet above the trees in this picture, and unknowingly flew past a bald eagle perched quietly on a branch in one of the trees. I didn't notice the majestic bird until later that night when I was reviewing the footage on my computer back at home. During the flight, I didn't see the bald eagle because of a slight glare from the sun reflecting off my mobile phone which I use for the remote control display. I am quickly learning how easy it is to miss the things my eyes and brain would normally pick up on if it were me flying through the air instead of the drone. However, if it were actually me flying through the air, the bald eagle surely would have attacked, and that's a long way to fall to the ground with a quick, hard, and painful landing, so I am thankful for the drone. I just need to solve the glare issue for the next flight.
