Tuatha Protector "Boann" Pulse Rifle

I'm sending this because you wanted to be informed the moment Thomes' DSR expedition turned up anything important. Sorry for not contacting you sooner, things happened quickly and I was not able to slip out until now. They don't want anyone outside the chain of command knowing. The Rangers located the source of the strange Aelves incursion. Or something like that, it sounds like something is off. That the Aelves' base is small, looks more like a colony than it does a staging ground. They're still sorting out the intel. They were located on a previously uninhabited system in an unexplored portion of space. It is very close to ECDA space, so its a delicate issue. Thomes wants to take his men in, but approval is slow coming because brass doesn't want to kick up friction from Centauri. The problem is that DSR got into a scuffle on their way out, had a firefight with some of these strange Aelves. Their tech is impressive, and their tactics are brutally effective against ours. Several casualties, including Lieutenant Fredricks. So now the Aelves know we know, and they know we are coming.

"The Battle of Diarmuid was the first battle between Homefront forces and the Tuatha, and though unrecognized at the time it was the first contact between the Tuatha and a modern human government. It started a series of small conflicts, called the "Operation Gypsy" by the Homefront and the "Fianna Blitz" by the Tuatha, where Homefront Deep Space Rangers, supported by contingents of standard infantry, clashed against Tuatha Protector battalions, later supported by Tuatha Ranger forces. The fear of provoking attention from ECDA combined with attrition from being repelled multiple times forced Homefront military command to recall General Thomes' rangers. Completion of Tuatha veil constructs has made further intel of the situation on the planet now known as Diarmuid, processing intelligence from the conflict helped reveal the unique identity of the Tuatha from other Aelves."
As I looked at our brave company of warriors, I was struck by how different it was from the short while ago. As we rode through the fair streets of Old Caer Bóinne, to the praise and adoration of our people. We were the first new Protector force to be formed in... longer than any of our kind could count. For all our long lives and long memories, this was something profound. Soldiers from this pocket citadel as well as the two closest neighboring, Caer Elcmar and Caer Midir, had assembled to escort the final group of colonists for the new world. Our armor gleaming, our newly designed pulse rifles at ready, we were a fine sight to behold. Now we are dirtied. The thick, dark, rich soil of our new world, Diarmuid, smeared across our armor. Muddied from the recent wet season. Even if you couldn't see it behind their helmets, you could feel the grim set of every man's face through his shoulders and the very air. The Tuatha would gladly die to defend our first new home. We would make the Fianna system a radiant new garden, even if its flowers must be watered with our blood. Perhaps we were careless, finely using our new starships to so boldly fly here, avoiding our usual stealthy routes. We were tired of sneaking, tired of smuggling one or two farmers through at a time. We were ready to stand and fight, even if the whole Fomorian horde should come. Now we stood together in our concealed entrenchments, watching the Fomorian craft land and waiting for the invasion to begin.
