Buchanan Battery - Observation Post
Buchanan Battery was completed and armed in March 1940 with a single 12-pounder gun. During May 1940 this
was increased to twin 12-pounder guns and subsequently altered to a twin 6-pounder early in 1941. In addition to the dominating three-storey battery observation post (BOP) or direction tower, there is a separate observation post, generator house, magazine and four searchlight emplacements.
