The site of Royal shipbuilding for hundreds of years, the Royal Dockyard at Chatham is now a national naval museum encapsulating naval history and associated trades. The vast site is home to HMS Cavalier, the last remaining WW2 destroyer; HMS Ocelot, a diesel-electric submarine launched from the dockyard in 1962 and it has now returned; and HMS Gannet, a composite ship of steel frame and wooden hull completed in 1878. As well as an active traditional rope works, dockyard railway, naval history and shipyard museum as well as indoor displays, the dockyard can easily fill a day.

These are a selection of my photographs from a couple of trips in recent years.
