Possible workshop
Remains of a WW2 anti-aircraft searchlight battery off the Kernan Road, Banbridge, Northern Ireland.
There do not appear to be any permanent searchlight pits or emplacements as would be expected, nor are there any strengthened buildings for command and control. The location of the site is outside any major city and would not have been well placed to detect incoming German bombers. Northern Ireland had a high concentration of airfields, perhaps this complex would have been used to assist with navigation of lost planes or convoys.
The buildings remaining appear to be:
1. Living accommodation
2. Operational building
3. Garage or workshop
4. Generator building
I have no documentary or photographic record of this site, or confirmation of its use.
