First Order TIE-Proteus (3)
Aside from the flying pizza slice- sorry, -'The Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought'- the only big problem I have with the ship design choices made in the sequel trilogy is the TIE Fighters. I get that they wanted to revive some aspects of the old designs for nostalgia sake but come on, a simple colour swap and reposition of engines really isn't enough changes for 30+ years of R&D in-universe. What's worse is that the design department were clearly thinking of some more drastic changes as evidenced in the art of TFA book but sadly none made it to screen.
With that said there's no reason why we can't invent our own variants so I took a stab at creating an alternate version inspired by both the Lambda & Upsilon shuttle with working S-foils and landing gear. I also figured it made sense for hyperdrive tech to get cheaper over time so I've elongated the 'eye-ball' to make room for one ;)
Thanks again to Bricks Feeder who's TIE Inspired this cockpit bubble design.
