First Act

For years I overlooked this stretch of coast, dismissing it as nothing worthy of coastal compositions. Wanting to explore somewhere new, Aaron and I decided to take a gamble and visit this beach for a potentially explosive sunset. At first I didn’t think much of the place but it grew on me as I walked up and down the beach finding different compositions that encompassed multiple sea stacks. We were a bit lucky as well that we had the perfect tide and surf conditions that made many of the compositions possible. I started out shooting this scene with sea stacks flanking the sunset as the sky burned for over 15 minutes. I enjoyed this beach so much that I ended up returning for several more visits but subsequent shoots were not quite as fruitful due to subpar conditions. I would like to return at least when I can get the idea conditions to align once again.
