Momentary Stillness
This beach used to be one of my most frequented coastline sections that I photographed for sunset. Over time I focused on other areas and had not returned to this beach in several years. This fall I decided to return to my old stomping grounds for another visit. By good fortunes, I ran into Jeff on the way up to San Francisco and we decided to meet up at this beach. With the weather gods fully cooperating, we were treated to a stellar display of light. Not only did the clouds erupt in fiery oranges but the sky appeared to have different decks of clouds, each sporting a different texture. Instead of focusing on wave action I opted to wait between waves when the wet sand created a reflective sheen for a mirrored image.
