Solarium
It was one of those nice spring afternoons of warmth and sunshine. With a possibility of clouds in the evening Jeff
and I decided to head out a bit earlier for some scouting. The scouting was quite successful as we found several new scenes with possible compositions for the future. We ended up at one of our favorite spots for sunset: a field full of lupine. Some clouds materialized but there was not nearly enough cloud coverage for a wide-angle composition. Hence came the backup option, which was to use an object to cover majority of the sky. This scraggly oak was situated in near perfect location with a full complement of blooming lupine at its base. I waited for the sun to drop right along the horizon to create the sun star while still providing that warm glowing light on the flowers.
