Enchanted Grove
Every time I visit the Redwoods I am amazed at the sheer size of these living fossils. Last summer David, Aaron, and I headed up to northern California for a few days of peace and quiet in the forests. On this morning we had fog blanketing the forest, but it was the high fog that was well above the trees. Despite not being the coveted low fog, the fog created an overcast blanket that allowed us to shoot for several hours in the morning. The best light came during the mid-morning when the fog began breaking and for a short time we had some filtered sunlight illuminating parts of the forest. Of all the groves we visited this one was particularly fascinating with endless carpets of sorrel covering the forest floor.
