Within Grasp

Dappled around the hills, Northern California has some of the most beautiful oak trees sporting gnarly branches seemingly full of character. With all the rainfall this past winter and spring, the green grass in the hills came alive again. Attempting to capture the essence of both the hills and oaks I scouted around several times looking for oak trees worthy of photographing. This particular tree caught my eye for a sunrise scene. While perched under the tree I liked how an arm of the tree appeared to reach out and grab another oak tree in the distance. I ended up returning the morning of a great sunrise that provided some great contrasting colors in the sky as well as giving that glow on the branches and trunk of the oak.
