Endless Curves
With all the rain California is getting this past week it is likely the hills will turn vibrant green yet again this spring. Last spring after several scouting outings I found some areas with great potential for photographing the hills. I decided to venture out to this spot with some clouds forecasted in the sky for sunset. In this case the high thins made a huge difference to the lighting of the hills. The clouds diffused the light and helped create a warm glow on the hills for the final minutes of sunshine before the sun ducked behind the distant mountains. Sunset ended up burning for a solid 15-20 minutes in brilliant reds and pinks but it was this light just before sunset that was my favorite creating a luminosity that made the hills come alive.
