Icy Footprint
It’s been nearly 2 years since I’ve been out to Abraham Lake but I still remember the trip clearly, especially all the good times we enjoyed. I always thought finding bubbles to shoot at Abraham Lake would be a breeze but in actuality finding the right ones for a solid composition is rather difficult. Despite spending an evening shooting Preacher’s Point the previous day, finding photogenic bubbles in the darkness preceding sunrise was a challenge.
After searching around for a bit I came across some solid proof of big foot’s existence: a giant footprint embedded in the ice. This footprint was too good to pass up and hence I setup shop there with the imminent sunrise. The light turned out to be a blast with beautiful burning cloud coverage. Having quite the fickle weather, we met a fellow photographer who had weathered clear skies the entire week before finally getting light on his last morning. David, Alan, and I ended up quite lucky to witness 3 times of great light during our trip.
