After spending several days shooting around the Canadian Rockies and Abraham Lake we were down to our last evening before heading home. Having already some great weather conditions and light the past few shoots, I was pleased with my photo haul. However, the partly cloudy skies all afternoon set the stage for a potential last hurrah.

Following the light and the ice conditions, David, Alan, and I ended up at the southern end of the lake. This windless afternoon temperature felt much warmer than the frigid -25C degree morning. I ultimately settled on a small area that offered multiple compositions with different groups of bubbles. The particular was my favorite: it had different shapes and sizes as well as the stacked pancake bubbles.

Although the light never exploded in full out burn as we had hoped, the side lighting sunset did provide some beautiful pastel colors in the clouds and the mountains tips. It was quite the present to conclude our Canadian Rockies adventure.
