Pinnacles

Pinnacles National Monument, California.

I finally made the trip down to Pinnacles for the first time last weekend. Pretty cool place, and not often photographed. Although the trail I hiked ended up being fairly boring for the first few miles until I reached the area where all these rock formations are.

This scene happened almost on accident. The sun had just set, and I was in a hurry to head back since I was almost out of water and 4 miles away from my car. But I saw this out of the corner of my eye and had to stop for a few minutes. It was also one of those weird situations where one minute I was all by myself, then a minute later 10 other hikers notice the guy with a tripod and start taking snapshots of the same scene, right next to me

I've been trying to look for simple compositions lately... This isn't one of them! I liked how the extreme FG rock seemed to cradle the FG pinnacle, and the rest of the scene.

Comments and critiques greatly appreciated. Feel free to be completely honest. Thanks for looking!
