McWay Falls (wide-angle)
This great cove is about 7 miles south of Big Sur, California. If you look closely, you can see two people walking along the beach near the fall. (It's a difficult climb down and illegal -- most of the central California coastal rescues every year happen here.)
I figured the light would be good late in the afternoon, but the harsh shadows made things difficult. It was actually a bit like a Canon convention. There were about 5 other photogs with Canon SLRs taking photos.
I've already said it in another thread, but I think the central California coast is one of the must-see scenic areas in the US. Start in Monterey (1.5 hours south of San Francisco) and drive down to Morro Bay, passing Big Sur, Carmel, San Simeon, and Cambria; the drive probably takes 3 hours but you could easily spend a week or two exploring everything.
Here is the telephoto version.
