Long Live OS 9
Yes, this is what it looks likeMac OS 9 running on an Intel-based iMac. This is the result of running Sheepshaver, an emulator for the classic Mac run-time environment, and booting off an OS 9 installer disk. It was actually sort of fun playing around with OS 9 again after all these years. Remember Sherlock? And the Chooser? I'm going to install OS 9 shortly and play around with some old classic apps just to see how it runs. Might even try playing Marathon (that's ground zero for Halo for those of you who weren't playing Bungie's games back in the mid-90s.) I'm doubtful about how it will run in an emulator, but just judging from the installer boot, it looks pretty solid and runs surprisingly fast. We'll see.
Still, it's weird to me that this one machine can boot into Windows, OS X and run OS 9. (Gees, I'm such a hopeless geek. That actually gets me excited.)
