inside this 'Smart Drive' box is my old PC hard drive, it is 80Gb SATA 7200 RPM. Paid $35 for the enclosure, so now it's a portable USB storage device. :)
Interesting to note MAC OS X can read NTFS partitions (but not write to them) however there is a third party driver out there that allows read and write access.
I use this USB HD to backup my Mac using Carbon Copy Cloner (Free program!)
the backups are bootable! and yes the Mac mini can boot from a USB HD.
