www.indoboard.com Indo Board Team Rider, Brett Metcalfe, Professional Motocross Rider.
Brett Metcalfe is one of the most seasoned veterans in the Lites class. The Australian born racer began his pro racing career in his home country by racing in the Australian Supercross series in 2001. In 2002, Metcalfe ventured overseas to compete in the World Motocross GP series within the MX2 class.
After two years of racing in many different countries, Metcalfe made his entrance into American Motocross. Riding for Red Bull KTM, his 2003 season was good. In the Supercross Lites East Region, he earned fifth overall with one podium in Houston. In the Motocross Lites class, he raced to fourteenth overall at the end of the series. The next year again saw Metcalfe team up with Red Bull KTM, and the now experienced rider earned eighth in the East Region for Supercross, and seventeenth in the outdoors.
In 2005, Metcalfe joined the Yamaha of Troy team, and had a great year. He would win the U.S. Open of Supercross in Las Vegas, and go on to have a good Supercross series. He made his debut in the West Region, and garnered two top fives on his way to sixth overall. He earned eighteenth overall in the Motocross Nationals in the Lites class. For 2006, Metcalfe put it all together, and earned top-ten finishes in both the outdoors and in Supercross. He rode his Yamaha to seventh in the West Region of Supercross and fifth overall in the outdoor series.
Metcalfe has ridden for many different teams, and 2007 would see him switching again, this time to the infamous Pro Circuit Kawasaki team. Although he missed the entire Supercross series and four rounds of the Motocross Nationals due to injury, he raced to three podiums on his way to seventh overall. He again joined the Pro Circuit squad for 2008, and has had his best year to date. In the Supercross Lites West Region, he earned fourth overall, which included three podiums. Outdoors, he has had several podiums and is third in points despite a shoulder injury. John Leonard
