Looking at this image, the scene seems unreal. But yes, it was really like that! Some of the other images in my photostream give a better sense of what was going on up close - millions upon millions of poppies and other flowers, painting rolling hills and low mountains in vivid orange (sprinkled here and there with yellow and purple). There are times when the camera struggles to do justice to the scene, and times when even its image strains credulity. This was one of those occasions.
