Envy vs. Pavilion

HP Envy 15 vs. HP Pavilion. As you can see the Envy is slightly longer (15.6" diagonal in the Envy vs. 15.4" in the Pavilion), slightly narrower, and thinner. It also weighs less.

The Envy is HP's answer to the MacBook Pro. Based on my experiences in the last few days I would have to say they did a pretty good job. The Envy is thin, lightweight, and very sturdy (Envy has a metal case rather than the standard plastic). Performance is significantly better than any computer I've used so far. The only potential downside is the lack of an internal optical drive, but given that I've needed one maybe 3-4 times in the last year I think Envy's external one will work fine.
