Flex Foot Cheetah

The Flex-Foot Cheetah is a prosthetic human foot replacement currently produced by Össur. Unlike all previous foot prostheses, the Flex-Foot stores kinetic energy from the wearer's steps as potential energy, like a spring, allowing the wearer to run and jump. About 90 percent of amputee Paralympics runners use a variation of the original Flex-Foot design, as well as thousands of athletes around the world.

This has been a project I've been working on for a little over a month now. With my growing interest in bionics has also developed into an interest in prosthetics in general. The Flex-Foot is one of the few non-mechanical prosthetics that caught my interest. But enough about all that jazz.

This doesn't completely stick to the Flex-Foot design, I wanted to choose usability over appearance so I used battle-droid feet to make it so the legs could connect to studs. I than took some battle-droid arms, cut off the hands, and modded them to give the blade look. And than I just cut some normal lego legs in half. I was thinking about painting some yellow trimming on it but decided just to stick with the standard look. I was also considering trying to paint some kind of logo on both of them but just thought it'd be impossible.

I might revisit them eventually, seeing as throughout the month I've been working on them I've found they're delicate as all hell, so I'm still trying to find a way to make them a lot more sturdy. Also I realized after painting that the left leg is slightly bent in, so that's another thing I'll need to touch up.
