SNP chip (2015)
A silicon-based integrated microsystem for the detection of multiple single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) directly in human blood (on the right side of the chip).
It is composed of three modules: a lysis chamber, a filter, and a PCR cavity. In more detail, a sample inlet (inlet 1) is connected to a first microreactor for performing cell lysis. This lysis cavity is connected to a cross-flow micropillar filter for physically entrapping the cellular debris after the lysing step. The final module is a PCR microreactor that includes an extra inlet for PCR primers and probes and an outlet for fluid circulation in the full system.
