My new job: Designer at LEGO Innovation House, Billund Denmark
This year has been hugely busy and a bit crazy. I applied for a Product Designer position with LEGO earlier this year and went through their lengthy interview process. They offered me a position soon after and I started work on August 1st.
This is me the day after arriving in Billund, standing next to the Innovation House, where I work everyday now with lots of extraordinary designers. It's been my dream job since I was about 5 years old. I had no idea it would happen so soon, but I'm truly grateful.
Needless to say, I will not be posting anything except some projects I completed in 2019 before starting work with LEGO. They are a handful of custom sets which are not being released yet by the institution for which they were designed. I thank all the individuals and institutions who have had confidence in my skills over the years - enough to hire me for commissions. Many of those builds were challenges that helped me grow my skills as a builder and designer.
Beyond those upcoming postings, I'll be able to share sets I've been on the team to design, once they are released to the public. All I can tell you now is that it's a privilege to be a part of the LEGO family.
I thank everyone in the LEGO community who I've had the chance to meet and build with over the years. It's always been great fun! I also thank all the fans who have shared their enthusiasm for the work I've done. It's been one of my favorite things to chat with those who have stopped by at conventions, and to give you all a chance to check out the playable features in my builds. Being able to play with the stuff I've built has always been the reason for my creations.
Cheers Everyone!
