Gravestone of Annie Smith

West Wilton, New Hampshire, is the natal town of Annie and Uriah Smith. Both were remarkably talented young people who played important roles in early Adventist experience. Sadly Annie died on July 26, 1855, of tuberculosis or consumption as it was then called. Annie was a talented poet, editor, and artist. Seventh-day Adventists still have three hymns written by her in their official hymnal. Annie and her parents, other siblings, and family members are buried in the South Yard Cemetery in Wilton Center.
