Site of Harmon home in Portland Maine

The Harmon family moved from Poland, Maine, to Portland about 1833 and Robert Harmon is listed in the 1834 Portland Directory. He bought their Spruce Street home on September 16, 1836. It is possible that his family lived for a time on a lease or rental basis in the home. Their home was located on the southwest corner of Spruce and Clark. Today the site of this home is at the end of Clark Street in the play area of a public school. The Harmons lived in this home until 1846. Robert Harmon then sold his home and moved again to Gorham, Maine.
