The morning after
Christmas morning, and in the empty food dish sits a sad looking Lorikeet. Too much fandango, Tequila and tango, I wonder; it must have been a great party. I gave it food and fruit juice, and it took both. Others came to eat and drink and later I went to give them more food. All the Lorikeets flew away, but one crashed into the fence and fell to the ground.
My first instinct was to go to it, but I've learned it's best to leave them to manage on their own. Sure enough, it got up and flew away. No sign of the sick bird today. Even birds can have too much of a good thing at Christmas time.
