Art Handlers Olympics

RANDY KENNEDY, Ready, Set, Hang: The Heavy Lifting Is On, March 22, 2010

"The first-ever Art Handling Olympics were a chance for glory — well, at least some fun — for the people who lug art around."

Yeay for art handlers! After the craziness of the Armory Show, art handlers around the city needed a moment to both vent and bask in their own glory. Both Nora and I have many art handler friends who work hard long hours behind the scenes to make the museums and galleries look spectacular. After their strenuous days, they go home to their own art studios and work early into the morning on their personal art work. This article is only a few of their 15 minutes. Enjoy reading about the Art Handlers Olympics hosted by Ramiken Crucible gallery in the Lower East Side.
