Spy Agencies Failed to Collate Clues on Terror
The National Security Agency intercepted discussions of a plot by leaders of Al Qaeda in Yemen, but spy agencies did not combine the intercepts with other information. The father of the accused attempted bomber reported his son's "radical" text messages indicating that he was a security threat to the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency however this outreach was disregarded.
Multipul sources are being blamed for the foiled attack. President Obama delivered a blistering indictment of “human and systemic failures, " while others government officials blamed the National Counterterrorism Center who points fingers at the CIA. Former Vice President, Dick Cheney states that Mr. Obama “pretends” the United States is not at war against terrorists and the White House blames the Bush administration for allowing Al Qaeda to gain power while Bush was focused on the war in Iraq.
