Females are very choosy, often selecting the males in the center of the booming ground or lek. They display little excitment, instead choosing to slowly walk through the lek, or sit and watch while the males go bonkers. If mating does occur, it's usually for no more than a second....then it's off to the dense cover to start preparing the nest.
