The light fantastic

The light fantastic - Golden Hour at Ribblehead with the setting winter sun bathing the viaduct in rich, golden, light.

I am forever drawn to this wonderful location at golden hour and always amazed how the stonework ignites and bursts into life with a radiant glow for a brief few minutes when the conditions are just right. It does seem that the grey of the ordinarily dull stonework is such a great canvas for golden hour; you have to be there to experience it and that it's no fluke or trick.

This is another retake of my favourite image from my 365 project from a number of years ago. I find it hard to resist chancing my hand when conditions are just right and opportunity presents itself to grab a slice of this remarkable magic of light in the Yorkshire Dales.
