Pentre Ifan

Pentre Ifan - Golden hour at Pentre Ifan, a potent reminder of Neolithic Wales.

The largest and best preserved Neolithic monument in Wales, Pentre Ifan dates from approximately 3,500 BC marking the site of an ancient burial chamber. Of the 7 principal stones still standing the huge 5 metre capstone weighing approximately 16 tonnes and resting 2.5 meteres off the ground, on the tips of three other stones, is the dramatic reminder of the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the Neolithic people that built this monument.
