It was such a beautiful sunset that day, amazing light! I guess I should've taken color film with me as it's hard to appreciate the conditions as I experienced them in this photo. Nevertheless, I like it!
Thanks to rain and heavy wind gusts, I had to work quickly, a bit haphazardly and slightly messed up the exposure, the shadows turned out quite thin. However, at least everything is tack sharp front to back, not to be taken for granted with the heavy wind present then! Also, I wish I had my 75mm lens available then, I think the small gain in angle might have worked wonders here.
Exposed as split grade: #00 + #5
Ilford MGIV RC + Rollei RPN Eco 1+9
Toned in selenium (Moersch MT 1 1+10) for a few minutes
Intrepid 4x5 Mk5 + Schneider-Kreuznach Super Angulon 90mm f8 + Fomapan 100
Adox Rodinal 1+50; 20 °C; roughly an n-1 development, time guessed, untested
Print scanned on a Heidelberg/Linotype-Hell Saphir Ultra II using Vuescan.
