Elegy for the Badlands
From the series Veils and Lacunae, which began in 2000 with Alma de la Serra’s Linkages. Source image was a panorama of bluffs in the North Dakota Badlands from 2009, a composite of 13 images shot vertically with a 50mm lens. Lacunae are based on topological divisions of a square. Veil patterns are produced by mapping an audio signal to a space-filling curve.
