Cattle traders of Eid ul-Adha

The majority of Bangladeshis (about 90%) are Muslims. In the religious occasion Eid-ul-Azha (Qurbani) around millions of animals sacrifice by devoted Muslims in Bangladesh.

Before Eid-ul-Azha, Every night thousand of animals came from different part of Bangladesh for sale in the Market. The traders were waiting whole night in the market for more selling their animal and have to wait good price. The innocent animals don’t know after that night they are going to be sacrifice.Numerous temporary marketplaces of different sizes called Haat operate in the big cities for sale of Qurbani animals (usually cows and goats).

The celebration of Eid ul-Adha is similar to Eid ul-Fitr in many ways. The only big difference is the Qurbani or sacrifice of domestic animals on Eid ul-Adha. It’s too hard to sell a domestic animal.Sacrifice of an animal will not be in order if it is one eyed, or blind, or has lost one third or more of its eyesight, or one third or more of its tail, or its ear has been cut off, or it is lame, or its bones have no marrow.

The aim of sacrifice, like all other fundamentals of Islam, is to imbibe piety and self-righteousness. It also promotes the spirit of sacrifice for a right cause. To explain its purpose, God says in the Quran. “It is not their meat, nor their blood, that reaches God, It is their piety that reaches God”: (22:37)
