Transitions

From light to darkness and back again. From inside outwards

and back again. From childhood to adulthood, from one apartment to another

and between jobs.

We experience transitions all throughout our lives. More complex transitions

like becoming a parent,

and simple ones like crossing the street.

And always, in every transition, we weigh and observe what is there before

and what is after. We always notice the difference between

here and there.

But the great shadow of these transitions

that is cast within us –

do we see that too?

 

Transitions

De la lumière à l’obscurité et retour. De l’intérieur vers l’extérieur

et retour. De l’enfance à l’âge adulte, d’un appartement à un autre

et d’un emploi à l’autre.

Nous vivons des transitions tout au long de notre vie. Des transitions plus complexes,

comme devenir parent,

et des transitions simples, comme traverser la rue.

Et toujours, à chaque passage, nous considérons et observons ce qu’il y a avant

et ce qu’il y a après. Nous voyons toujours la différence entre

ici et là-bas.

Mais la grande ombre de ces transitions

qui se projette en nous –

la voyons-nous aussi ?
