Below the Summit

I took this photo while skiing in Tignes and it shows the dramatic north face of the 12,637 ft (3,852m) "Grande Casse" mountain in the French Alps. The buildings in the photo are at 9,950 ft but the ski runs start as high as 11,340 ft. It was certainly the highest and best skiing I've experienced with the best snow conditions.
