1223b-01

Stagecoach used the transfer of its operations in East Lancashire to Blazefield Holdings as an opportunity to rid its fleets of some non-standard vehicle types with these being transferred to Stagecoach Ribble a few weeks prior to the change with standard types being transferred to other fleets in return. The non-Standard types included a batch of M.C.W. Metrobuses from Stagecoach Manchester that were new to Greater Manchester Transport, these included 1223, MRJ 40 W that was originally numbered 5040 in the G.M.T. fleet and pictured outside Burnley bus station. After service with Burnley & Pendle this bus passed to Davies Coaches, Plean.
