Grumman F3F-2 (1)

Grumman F3F-2, BuNo 1028, registered N26KW. This one of the very few F3F aircraft still in existence.

I believe that the markings on this aircraft are those of an F3F-2 assigned to VF-7, aboard USS Wasp (CV-7) in 1939.

The Grumman F3F was the last biplane fighter ordered by the United States military. All F3Fs had been withdrawn from operational service by the time the United States entered World War II, but some remained in use as squadron or station "hacks" after December 7, 1941.
