Looking East through the Arbel Pass - B

This was the main approach to the Sea of Galilee in antiquity. The primary trade route (the Via Maris) came through this pass as it moved from the Jezreel valley up toward the markets of Damascus. The caves of this valley also sheltered Jewish resistors during Herod the Great's conquest of his kingdom.
