Lervois Bridge, Port Adelaide - circa 1920s

JERVOIS Bridge western end of Port Adelaide was a Cast Iron swing bridge, it pivoted in the middle to allow grain ships to access the Port Canal (dug 1880 back filled 1990's) and grain silos near by. The Bridge was removed in the 1990 and is still on display near Shed No1 near the Birken Head Bridge.

Factory in the back Ground is the CSR sugar works. most likely the what is in the bags on the horse and dray. Photo appears to have been taken from the balcony of the tiny BUG-TRAP hotel demolished in the mid 1990.
