Art of Doubt

We went for a rainy day drive on the weekend to this historical section of a city outside Toronto. The last time I was here was years ago when I bought a painting from a local artist. Do you ever feel a little breathless when you visit places that you haven’t been to in a long while? All these memories come flooding back. The near misses and what-ifs that occur in our lives, and the millions of decisions that we’ve made along the way that have brought us to this moment...

This historic building was the first thing to catch my eye when I stepped out of the car. At some point in the last ten years, the building has been painted this shocking shade of deep, bluish purple. I love that it matches my plaid umbrella (see reflection in upper windows). :) Handheld and under low light/rainy conditions, the images I took that day are not super sharp (does it matter?). But I like them well enough to share here. This is one of five. I hope you find something you like too. x

“All this isolation’s sinister

So be kind to yourself,

There will never be another you

There’s just nobody else that’s you!

You said, ‘Don’t let your heart give out’

No, I won’t let my heart give out

You said, ‘don’t let your breath run out’

No, I won’t let my breath run out...”
