Fox hunt

Remember me saying that I had a wish for this winter? Capturing foxes in Holland?

Voila!! :-)

 

Yesterday Dennis Rademaker and me went 'hunting' after he sent me one after another gorgeous fox-picture through his cell-phone, perfectly knowing that I couldn't leave the house. Sadist!

 

When we started off yesterday it was -5C and the 'Oostvaardersplassen' were still covered in snow. (with the weather forecast predicting more). Wrapped in at least 3 layers of warm clothing (and let's not forget my electrical socks! :-) we criss-crossed the "Oostvaardersplassen" in search of foxes. Plenty of tracks around but no real one for hours and hours...

 

At a certain point, cold and hungry, I was ready to give up when all of a sudden a red flash caught our attention. Fox!! He was munching down a (very rare) Water Rail and paid no attention to us whatsoever.

After he had finished his snack he wandered off with us in his trail. Perfectly posing on the snow-covered open field he formed a fantastic reward for our long and cold search..
