Rise to the sun
The beauty of shooting with 3 equally crazy and fanatic wildlife photographers is that you learn from one another.
I must admit that, when in the presence of hummingbirds, backlit shots are not the first things that come to mind but when you are in the company of 'Mr. Backlight' himself (at least that's what we call him) you get ideas planted in your head.
It was still very early but we were already fully set-up, waiting for enough light. There were huge trees in the far distance and the rising sun made an effort to pierce through them. Plenty of hummingbirds were already buzzing around. So why not? Let's try those back-lit shots!
And low and behold; guess what! I like it!! So I owe a huge thank you to my friend for the idea.
