Warm welcome

High up the cliff up at Latrabjarg - Iceland.

When we arrived really early in the morning at the cliff, most of the Puffins were out at sea. Only a few females were home.

We spent the day, well most of all getting wet, but besides that, practising in-flight shots of the many sea birds on the cliff.

Late in the afternoon, the Puffins returned from the sea. I melted completely when I saw the warm welcome the males received from their spouses. Minute long beak rubbing - eskimo style - with long looks into each other's eyes. (big sigh.......)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm reacting too feminine now, but it was really tóo cute!
