ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says: FROM JACQUES WOOD PHOTOSTREAM Carentan, June 11th 1944, Coles Charge This may look like a main road running through some industrial buildings and you would be right. However, in 1944 the main road would have come in from the right hand side next to bridge 4 on the Carentan causeway. This has been replaced by a roundabout. There would have only been one building visible which is still there, the ingouf farmhouse, in the centre of the picture. The small town of La Pommenaque is still there in the far distance. Although the road network has changed due to modern needs. This link shows a wartime picture of the area. www.paratrooper-museum.org/cole.html en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lt_Col_Cole
