ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says: IT CANNOT BE FORGOTTEN...that General Wainwright was the General who surrendered thousands of Allied troops who were then subjected to the Bataan Death March. While he is deceased, I would imagine it was a decision he regreted until his passing. My purpose for placing this photo in the gallery GOOD VS EVIL is to accentuate the evil that was he and his forces were subjected to once they surrendered. Exactly how General MacArthur fit into this picture can be studied. He, of course, was safe in Australia. Did he have radio contact with Wainwright over the decision? No, not to my knowledge. About the Mayor? Strictly a great guy who got a lot done for New York. I have never heard anything negative about the Mayor other than his dislike for hot dogs.

ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says: A MOST HONORABLE tribute to your father. The time is nearing when almost all of our WWII veterans are gone. How sad. They were such a strong influence on our generation. I remember many and had many who were close friends when I was in the USN, especially since we were only 20 years apart. When they were 40, I was 20. Heard many stories from my Navy friends who were there. It is encouraging to see your tribute.
