ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
When I was young and the world was much larger, I wanted to go to sea on a tramp steamer to write a novel about all of the ports I would see. Thus, the beginning of my life on my own was all about the ocean.
You were on the spot to capture some of the intense transition that took place in just a few short years. For years, the city was the same, then in the decade of the 70s, things changed in a big way.
This would make a great cover for a novel.
ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
Hello, Chief..........this is one of the best. Don't believe I have ever seen both Enoshima and Mt Fuji in same frame or image. This is very rare--and very beautiful.
This is the kind of photo some will wait years to get just right. You got it. Time, air, everything about it is perfect. I especially like the way the lights twinkle in the sea air. I am presuming this is sunset or twilight time?
ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE.
Since leaving Japan in 1963 after nearly three years, I have longed to return someday to see Mt. Fuji. If I cannot make it, this photograph is almost like seeing this sacred sight in person.
I still remember the first time I saw Mt Fuji. It was one of those moments in our lifetimes we clearly recall, a moment that will be as close to us as yesterday.
You have captured this scene in a manner that makes it appear as it might have been seen a century ago. Your lighting, framing and attention to details has made this scene one of the best I have seen during the past 50 years. Thanks for sharing this memory. Robert
